hi i keep trying to do a system restore and this keeps coming up rstrui.exe saying that mcafee.com agent is not a valid windows image??? i dont understand what this is can u pleasee please help me??? ty

I have not been successful finding your exact cause with the mcafee.com agent yet, however, have you tryed doing a restore from safe mode yet?

how do i go to safe mode? this is the complete message


McAgent_Main_Hidden_Window.McAgent.exe-bad image (this is the name on the box


inside the box it says
The application or DLL. C:\ Program-1\McAfee.com\Agent\mcback.dll is not a valid windows image Please check this against your installation diskettee..


Pleaseee help if u can it would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!! ty ty ty :-)

Im beginning to wonder if you have a trojan? Have you done a virus scan? and if it looks like the scan is inhibbited, try to do a scan from a site that allows web virus scaning, like trend micro.

Im also wondering if it is a program conflict between mcafee and windows? Have you tryed uninstalling mcafee?

uninstall mcafee and try a restore. And if you go online to do a webscan for viruses, turn on your firewall.

yes i tried uninstalling mcafee aftre uninstallation it remains in the add remove program ??? :tazz:

So it looks as though it went through the uninstall proceedure? dont worry about the designation still in the add remove programs, mcafee may have been uninstalled. So now try a restore and?

I beleive with some applications you can uninstall using the disk that came with the program. How did you try to uninstall mcafee? Did you put the mcafee disk in and find an option to uninstall?
