Hi, i'm new to this so please bare with me,

first of all thanks for your time,

as of yesterday, out of the blue my computer won't let me use the internet on my own user setting, although i can on the guest user, with great slowness and difficulty,
basically , on my user, there is constant pop ups from xp anti spyware telling me my pc is being monitored, warning of possible spyware infection and that sensitive data can be stolen,
some of the pop ups are different but they all lead to the same screen which is trying to get me to buy their software for around 60 dollars,
there is 1 of the pop ups which apparently does a scan of my system and comes up with 30 different infections, giving details of each,
e.g; File Malware Name
C:\DocumentsandSettings\Wqd.dl Email.Worm.JS.Gigger

there is 30 of these in the list which i can obviously put on the post if need be,

The xp anti spyware also offers a manual activation option which when clicked requests a Registration Key, which i have been unable to obtain,

Anyway i hope this is a good start information wise and it would be great if you could help me in any way,

once again thanks for your time,

regards,

bryan

ps i will copy n paste the note pad info below

The infections found are all bogus so don't worry about them.

You are not going to be able to do too much as a Guest. Perhaps you can download the programs you need to fix it then switch back to your usual login and try to run them. Another option is to boot to Safe Mode with Networking and log in to the hidden Administrator account.

To get into Safe Mode: Reboot. When you see the maker's logo, hear a beep or it mentions F8, start slowly tapping the F8 key until it gets to the Safe Mode menu. Choose Safe Mode with Networking then use the Administrator account. Usually there is no password.

Follow as much of this guide as you can:

http://www.bleepingc...t-security-2011

I do see two files that appear to be malware:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\861nts4qy376qnc15yad4x34m6ln742qe26823avdaw
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\4r140hy2.exe

You probably need to be an administrator in order to remove them. Once you get to Safe Mode/Administrator you can use OTL to get rid of them:

Copy the text in the code box by highlighting and Ctrl + c

:OTL
[2011/05/10 17:41:57 | 000,015,106 | -HS- | C] () -- C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\861nts4qy376qnc15yad4x34m6ln742qe26823avdaw
[2011/05/09 20:42:01 | 000,114,690 | ---- | C] () -- C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\4r140hy2.exe

:Commands
[RESETHOSTS]
[purity]
[emptytemp]
[Reboot]

then run OTL and Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste (ctrl +v) the text. Verify that you got it all and Then click the Run Fix button at the top
Let the program run unhindered, OTL will reboot the PC when it is done. Save the log and copy and paste it to a reply.

Run OTL (Vista or Win 7 => right click and Run As Administrator)
select the All option in the Extra Registry group then Run Scan.
You should get two logs. Please copy and paste both of them.

ComboFix
:!: If you have a previous version of Combofix.exe, delete it and download a fresh copy. :!:

:!: It must be saved to your desktop, do not run it :!:

:!: Disable your Antivirus software when downloading or running Combofix. If it has Script Blocking features, please disable these as well. See: http://www.bleepingc...opic114351.html

Download and Rename this file -- (call it george.exe ) to your Desktop -- from either of these two sources:
http://download.blee...Bs/ComboFix.exe
http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe

Doubleclick on george to start the program.

* :!: Important: Have no other programs running. Your Task Bar should be clear of any program entries including your Browser.

* A window may open with a series of Disclaimers. Accept the Disclaimers to start the fix. Allow it to install the Recovery Console then Continue. When the scan completes Notepad will open with with your results log open. Do a File, Exit and answer 'Yes' to save changes.

A caution - Do not run Combofix more than once. Do not touch your mouse/keyboard until the scan has completed, as this may cause the process to stall or your computer to lock. The scan will temporarily disable your desktop, and if interrupted may leave your desktop disabled. If this occurs, please reboot to restore the desktop. Even when ComboFix appears to be doing nothing, look at your Drive light. If it is flashing, Combofix is still at work.

A file will be created at => C:\Combofix.txt. I'll need to see that in your reply.

Re-activate your anti-virus at this time :!:

Download aswMBR.exe ( 511KB ) to your desktop.

Double click the aswMBR.exe to run it

Click the "Scan" button to start scan

On completion of the scan (Note if the Fix button is enabled and tell me) click save log, save it to your desktop and post in your next reply
