Hello,

I am quite sure my laptop got infected with a rather strange virus. It has something to do with a program called AntivirusGold v2.0. This program seemed to have installed itself, without asking permission. I cannot remove this program completely. Everytime I reboot the program installs itself again. Next to that, a very annoying icon keeps appearing in the taskbar, telling me "Your computer is infected!" I have no clue how to solve this problem... hoping someone can help me.

Next to that, it is impossible to start Hijack This. Everytime I double-click it gives the message that I am starting it from a temporary folder, and that I should move the program before using it. However, this is not true, because I am starting it from C:\Program Files\HijackThis...

Hoping for an answer!

Greetings,

Rory

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Now try to run Hijack This from there. Save the log and reboot into normal mode and post the log. Let me know if you cannot.
