I recently got a 64 bit processor upgrade and i am runnign windows xp pro. whenever i play WoW i can play for a while but then my computer just turns off. i can imidiatly turn my comp back on and play for a while, sometimes, othertimes it turns of quiker. its as if it is overheating but i have never seen my processor go above 47 and my borde at 25. i have done a burn in test on my processor and ram. 1.82 amd procesor and ddr 333 1gb. i returned my mobo and procesor for new ones already to see if that was the problem and it seems its not the problem. I upgraded my chipset drivers and it seemed to fix it for a long time but now it is acting up again.
also... eventually the old mobo and processor would not work at all and my comp did nto even beep, thats why i returned the mobo and procesor. when i tried my old video card (9800 pro) in the two new components it would do the same thing. when i put in a different video card (9500) it worked imediatly until now.
Mobo: gigabyte, k8 triton GA-K8NS
Procesor: AMD 2800
what can i do?!
Overheating? - videocard?
memory leak?
need windows 64?

I know it may seem unlikely, but perhaps you got sent ANOTHER defective motherboard/processor. I know the chances of this are about 1 in 1,000,000, but you could be the one.

sounds very frustrating...how many mem sticks do you have in the comp? if you have more than one try removing all but one and running the comp. repeat with the rest of the sticks...i doubt that's the prob but it's worth a try...

also, have you been using the same HD? if this is the case more than likely there is some viscous little monster in it wrecking your comps performance. if you can, try a different HD and see what happens...run anti-virus and spyware removal programs if you don't have another HD available...also you could do a reinstall of windows. make sure you format the HD throughly during the reinstall (don't go with the quick format option)

this has happened on both of the hard drives i own, and on both i ran anti virus/spyware programs. and i have tried switching the ram sticks.
also, not mentioned in teh first post i am using a 450W power supply, so that isnt the problem.

Sounds like it could be a power supply issue. Is it a brand name 450W power supply, or something that came with the case. All PS's are not created equal.

it is a good namebrand power suply and i tested the cables with a voltmeter
