Hi All
I just bought a second hand PC tower and I have tried three different monitors, but everytime the monitor goes into standby after about 30 seconds. I know the monitors are working in fact I tried the one im using to type this. The pc is making all the right noises with no bleep codes, and was working before I got it home, although it was then plugged into an LCD monitor and I have CRTs, I would be very greatful for any help.
Thanks in advance.

Hi starrs
You need to provide information about your computer, this includes is it
a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if it is provide the model
name or series number, motherboard , PSU and any add on card details would
also help others to help you better.

but evrytime the monitor goes into standby after about 30 seconds

Does Windows install before this happens?

and was working before I got it home

Something inside of the case may have become detached in transit so it may
be necessary to open the case and check things out.
