All of a sudden I lost audio. When I call, the other party cannot hear me and vice versa. Microphone seems to be o.k., I tried it on another computer. Echo Sound test tells me that I do not have a sound card, or that it cannot be accessed. That cannot be, because I can listen to the radio or CD. I restarted the computer, upgraded software, tried different settings for my speakers, still nothing. Headphones do not work either. Any Idea what else should I do?

Welcome to Geeks2Go!

Check the Device Manager & see if there are any errors shown there such as a yellow question mark or red exclamation mark.
If there are, it's a driver problem. Re-installing the sound driver may fix it.
You can download free drivers from the Gateway/eMachines support website: http://support.gatew...ault.aspx?tab=2
