Well - it got me! Strongly suspect in came in thru a FAKE Adobe update that appeared exactly as correct updates windows show.

I don't know how many variations there are of this problem. It's hard to say what all variants are cousin to this virus.

Many have related problems - in that after cleaning you may get the black screen with white cursor. This seems to be a huge issue. It is mentioned WIDELY on the internet. I have gotten most of my functions back to my computer. There are so many variations to this problem - some get it after a Windows update, others get it after clearing a virus from their computer. You have to look around and try things following online suggestions. DO NOT do it if you are not comfortable. Write down your steps in case you have to undo what you tried.

I followed suggestions at -

- so that I started to see icons on my desktop. I believe I had to use the 2nd suggestion. The key is to select the Desktop folder to un-select the Hidden Folder.

Best of luck,

If you suspect an infection on your computer please create a new topic in our Malware Removal Forum instead of following advice on Yahoo Answers.
