I was trying to clean my hard disk and removed several programs. When I restarted my computer, a dialogue box with

"There was a problem opening program~1\instal~11{6811C~1\setup.exe "

(or something to that effect)came up, and the 'Found New Hardware Wizard' box opened, and will not close.

My screen resolution is now distorted though the display settings in Control Panel have not been changed. What did I delete??

I have misplaced the Windows CD, so cannot reinstall missing programs.

Please help, I'm computer illiterate!!

Thanks in advance!

Use "System Restore" to roll-back your PC to a date before the problem occurred:
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Ah, many thanks! I received another reply a couple of hours ago on a different forum where I though to put my laptop model in (Toshiba M300). Problem diagnosed was a missing graphics driver, downloadable from their website. Your solution would have been MUCH simpler!! Thanks for the tip, will keep in mind in future!
