Hi,

Recently, my computer has been restarting by itself mainly when I'm surfing websites (all different websites). The same thing also happens when I'm viewing some files in Windows Explorer or using Real Player. The problem started 2 weeks ago and it gets worse these few days. When the problem started, the computer only restarted once or twice a day when I'm using but now, sometimes it can restart 4 to 5 times a day. I have scanned my computer using avast! Antivirus and there are no files that is virus-infected. As far as I can remember, I did not install any new programs during that period so I'm not sure what could have caused the problem.

OK it shows your +3.3 volt rail as running a little low which could be indication of faulty PSU.
Your temps look ok so I don't think it has to do with heat.
Lets see if the Event viewer shows anything along with checking to see if a driver may be the cause.

Put a tick in Accept then click on Next
Put a tick in the Don't create a start menu folder then click Next

Click Analyze
It will want to download the Debugger and install it Say Yes
WhoCrashed will create report but you have to scroll down to see it

As for the Event Viewer Tool, when I tried to open the exe, there's an error message (the normal windows error message: "VEW.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.")

Hmm it looks like Avast is you major culprit right now. What version of Avast are you running?
I just manually updated my engine and it is now at 6.0.1125
Virus definitions are at version 110608-0

I would then disable Avast and try everything except for surfing the internet and see if you have any issues then. It may be a faulty install or a corrupt exe file.

Hi,

I've tried disabling Avast for a short period of time without surfing the internet and my system is ok. However, the problem usually occurs when I'm surfing the internet. Only occasionally it restarts (probably only 5% of all times when it restarted) when I'm using Windows Explorer or Real Player.

OK then the only way to truly see if it is Avast is for you to try and log in to GTG without Avast running. If system doesn't restart then we can point at Avast as being the culprit.
The other option is to uninstall Avast and install MSE or Microsoft Security Essentials. It has everything with it so you would not be without protection.

I've disabled Avast and logged onto this website. The system didn't restart.

Can I know what's the next step - solve the Avast problem or uninstall Avast and install MSE?
