Convert $ to £ in Excel

Hi There People

I have downloaded an Excel spreadsheet but the monetary values are in $ I need to change then to £.

Can anybody help please

I am using XP and it concerns Office 2010

Convert $ to £ in Excel
Reply
Highlight the range of cells you want to change.
Right click and click on:-
Format Cells . . .
The Format Cells window should open.
Click on the Number tab.
In the:-
Category:
- box set it to:-
Currency
then click on the pound symbol (in the Symbol: box).
Click OK.

Depends if you simply want to change $10.00 to £10.00 i.e. change the symbol and leave the figures the same or $10.00 to £6.10 i.e. change $10.00 to the monetary equivalent in GBP.
