What is different for Windows 98 SE in your guide to prevent malware ? I've fixed the problem in my Windows XP and I do not want it to occur in my Windows 98 SE.
I would appreciate any advice you can give.
Thanks.

You just want recommendations on programs and things you can download to prevent it? You're not having any problems on that system, correct?

I recommend checking the http://www.microsoft.com website periodically for critical updates to install.

Detect and Remove Programs:Prevention Programs:
  • Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
  • Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.
Other necessary Programs:
  • AntiVirus Program<= An AntiVirus program is a must! Whether it is a free version like AVG or Anti-Vir, or a shareware version like Norton or Kapersky, this is a must have.
  • Firewall<= A firewall is definitely a must have. Two good free versions are Sygate and ZoneAlarm.
All of these program will help protect your computer, and you shouldn't have any problems running the on a 98 :tazz:
