Nope it still seems really slow, and when I play a few of my games it locks it up for like 15sec or so. :)

Hopefully the info I gave you can at least point us to the problem.

OK lets try some disabled add ons then. First IE.

To disable add-ons in Internet Explorer 8

1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Tools button, and then click Manage Add-ons.
3. Under Show, click All add-ons.
4. Click the add-on you want to disable, and then click Disable.
5. Repeat step 4 for every add-on to disable. When you are finished, click Close.
Now restart IE and retry IE as before. Let us know if it still happens or not. If not then try enabling one add on at a time and trying IE again till you find the problem.
Most times the cause will be a toolbar add on.

I turned off what few add ons I had on IE, but I don't use IE that much only to do bills (and this thread) so that one doesn't really lag out. Mostly it's my games (EQ and Rappelz locking up badly the last 4 days and never did before) and Facebook and are acting really bad playing the apps on there. Opening and shutting down any app/program/game is slooooow also. Not sure if this info helps you or not.

OK so we are dealing with two issues at this point if I am reading this right. OS and internet correct?
* Go to Start and then to Run
* Type in firefox -safe-mode
* A window will popup asking things that you want to disable or reset (eg: reset/disable bookmarks/toolbars, etc.)
* Click Disable all add-ons and press Restart for the changes to take effect.

Let me know if Firefox runs faster now.

I honestly couldn't tell you if it runs faster... I only use it for ONE website and thats down unless it's a nite I'm raiding on EQ to use the admin tools. I dislike FF bigtime but have to use it for just the one purpose so I've never added any add-ons and such to it. But I did tell it to shut them all off like you advised. :)

apps on FB use flash so that would be where I would start looking.
Go HERE and make sure your Flash is up to date. This will tell you what version you are running and if it is the newest.

I had just received a pop up saying to update my flash player 1-2 days ago and had decided to hold off with all the problems I was having, until we'd figured them out. I'll go update it now but I was having problems before this came out especially on EQ. :)

If flash does not correct the issue then the issue as far as I can see is the ISP itself. Regardless of what they say the signal strength could be unstable or there could be a issue with your modem\router that is causing the freezing online.

hmm not sure that EQ nor Rappelz uses flash and the problems started before the new flash update even came out. :)

just curious...my video card wouldn't be the issue if it's possibly going out? But not sure how to check it though... or how to check to see if it's my ethernet card? just tryin to think of dif things causing the problems but it's even opening and shutting ANY program wheather it's an online one or offline so it don't seem like it would be my internet when they checked it and say it's ok. :)
