Hi All -
After my XP totally crashed just over a week back and Broni attempted to get it working again, I almost have it back and working again.
It required a Full Install and was sent back to 'as new' install condition. Nothing could be saved (after 2 days trying).
Now the only problem I have is a volume controller that is not recognised anywhere.
The following is from a DDS log scan I have done to try and find the process - - -
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==== Disabled Device Manager Items =============
.
Class GUID:
Description: Multimedia Audio Controller
Device ID: PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_7012&SUBSYS_810F1043&REV_A0\3&267A616A&0&17
Manufacturer:
Name: Multimedia Audio Controller
PNP Device ID: PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_7012&SUBSYS_810F1043&REV_A0\3&267A616A&0&17
Service:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is no use posting a Speccy shot for the audio system, as it just says 'no audio found' -

Any help Please -

Hi Mac -

My Device manager lists it as a SIS-7018 (not SIS-7012) that is missing.
Are the 2 similar or not the same.

Thank You -

Additionally the actual SIS site download, which I could not locate at first
http://w3.sis.com/download/

I suggest you try them both.
If 7012 does not work try 7018

Thanks Mac -
I found a driver that works , so I have sound and an icon again.
Still not sure why the Device Manager lists 7018 and not the usual 7012 as listed in the log ? ?

Thank You for that -

Hi -
Sorry I missed your reply , I was still trying to fix this unit.
The SIS 7018 fixed the problem (as listed in Device Manager). This may be an update to the 7012 Driver.
PNP Device ID: PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_7012&SUBSYS - This was what I started looking for, but a friend said to look for the later model.
I Googled around 'till I found it. SIS 7018 is listed as the installed one now. Sorry but I do not have the site listed now.

Thanks for your help -
It has been a few years since ? ? Lunarsoft or SAS (from memory) that you last helped me :)
