I need this done on the infected computer:

*Download LSPFix.exe to a convenient location.
*Close all Internet Explorer Windows, and run the program by doubleclicking "LSPfix.exe".
*Put a checkmark next to the "I know what I'm doing" Button.
*Locate this file under "Keep" on the left-hand side:

lsp.dll

*Click on this file to highlight it (if there are more than one entry for THIS file please follow the below instructions for them all)
*Once the above file is highlighted, click the ">>" to remove it.
*Once all instances of lsp.dll are over in the "Remove" panel, click "Finish>>"
*Do NOT remove any other files otherwise you will not regain your connection to the Internet.

First, I need you to right click on the desktop and go to New > Folder - click on it and name it whatever you want. Locate HiJackThis.exe on the desktop right click on it and go to "cut", then go into the folder you just made and click "paste". This is to ensure backups are saved and accessible.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add Remove programs and look to see if the following is there, if yes, remove it, if not skip and continue with the next step:

SF

Exit Add/Remove Programs.

Make sure all programs and windows are closed. Run HiJackThis. Place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SMSSU] C:\WINDOWS\System32\SMSSU.EXE
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Tmntsrv32] C:\WINDOWS\System32\Tmntsrv32.EXE
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [sfita] C:\WINDOWS\sfita.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [sf] C:\Program Files\sf\sf.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Pewsdto] C:\Program Files\Ctfhkgw\Nrkerrm.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [do7mRSbFl] accfaxui.exe

O16 - DPF: {0878B424-1F95-4E26-B5AB-F0D349D89650} - http://download.barg...MARKETING32.cab
O16 - DPF: {11111111-1111-1111-1111-111111111111} - ms-its:mhtml:file://C:\foo.mht!http://195.225.176.2...b.chm::/1/e.exe

O16 - DPF: {EC51659D-721F-4CBF-9CEA-5E776D89CEA9} - http://www.pacimedia...ll/pcs_0006.exe

O23 - Service: ZESOFT - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\zeta.exe (file missing)
O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Close HiJackThis.

I need you to reboot into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, then hit enter. Make absolutely sure hidden files are showing!

Using Windows Explorer, I need you to locate the following files/folders and delete them (in bold), do NOT try to find them by "search":

C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe
C:\WINDOWS\zeta.exe
C:\Program Files\Ctfhkgw
C:\Program Files\sf
C:\WINDOWS\sfita.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Tmntsrv32.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\System32\SMSSU.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\System32\accfaxui.exe
C:\WINDOWS\accfaxui.exe
c:\windows\system32\oorwxk.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system\gwvbjs.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\ntur.exe

Post a new HiJackThis log.

Copy everything in the code box below and paste it into a new notepad file. Change the "Save As Type" to "All Files" and save it as fix.reg Transfer fix.reg over to the infected computer.

I need you to copy all of the Killbox instructions below and paste them into Notepad and save it. Transfer the instructions to the infected computer.

* Reboot into Safe Mode

* Once in Safe Mode, Run Killbox.exe.

* Select "Delete on Reboot".

* Open the Notepad file where you saved these instructions earlier, and copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them then press CTRL + C

C:\WINDOWS\explorer32dbg.exe
C:\WINDOWS\iexplore_dbg.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\SMSSU.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Tmntsrv32.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\xmlib.dll

* Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".

* Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt. If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

After your computer reboots, post a new HiJackThis log.

I've not figured out anything that will help with your Internet connection. So, let's remove Norton:

Click this link: http://service1.syma...001092114452606

Then scroll down to the section titled:

"Uninstalling Norton AntiVirus 2003 or earlier using the Rnav2003.exe removal utility" (just under the table). Then click the "+" next to To download and run Rnav2003.exe

Follow those instructions for downloading and using the Rnav2003.exe utility. If it's not successful let me know, then we'll have to remove Norton manually (yuck!)

Let me know when that's done then we'll move onto the next step.
