I have a client who uses WP, and I installed it on my computer a couple of years ago with no problems (other than working in it). With the upgrade to 5.0, all my Word docs now open in WP. Is there a way to change the default back?

Right-click any Microsoft Word doc file and choose "Open with > Choose Default Program" from the context-menu.
Select Microsoft Word and make sure "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" is ticked before clicking 'OK'.

Hi,

Thanks Philip.

I had forgotten that option. And, if you can believe it, this client takes my reports and backs them into DOS and edits them with the white text on the blue screen. But he makes about $500,000 a year, so I guess he can do whatever he wants (as long as he sends me work).

This is a very useful website!

Dan
