I just formatted my system today morning.I installed Kaspersky,removed it and have installed NOD32 now.I use Google Chrome 12.0.742.30 and Firefox 6(Aurora Channel).Almost all sites open on FF but microsoft.com refuses to do so.I have got the same problem with my Chromium browser.Using the command line to ping microsoft.com also gives up connection problem for microsoft.com.I suspect I have(or my AV Software has) misconfigured the DNS settings.I don't know what to do next.Below are the attachments that show the error.

Hi anuvab1911,

There is a removal tool for Kaspersky that you might want to try if you haven't just in case your issue is due to leftover residual files.

Please see here--> http://support.kaspe.../?qid=208279463

Let us know. Maybe one of the other members may have an idea if that does help.

Good luck!

No that is almost impossible.Kaspersky's website too doesn't open on my computer.Is it a malware which is causing this problem? I have also checked the hosts file at %windir%/drivers/etc but it doesn't block kaspersky or microsoft websites.
