One of my PCs refuses to run MS-DOS programs. If trying to run it from the desktop I get 'Windows cannot find 'c:\...\prog.pif''. Similar message (but substitute exe for pif) when browsed to the appropriate directory. Won't run from DOS window, though I admit I haven't tried booting to DOS. Copied the program's directory to another PC over the LAN & it works fine. Several DOS programs present, all similar results.

Thanks in advance for any help (in case I forget afterwards)

Hi greenwing. Welcome to Geeks to Go. This is one of many articles from the M$ knowledge base. Take a look and see if it helps. If this doesn't fix it do a search of their knowledge base. They have a multitude of stuff there which may have the answer you are looking for. The link I posted is "Troubleshooting MS-DOS-based programs in Windows XP"
