My husband was told by AVG free that he has the virus Win32/NSAnti and gave him 2 locations it was in C:/oem/preload/Autorun/APP/PowerDVD/Data 1.cab was one location. AVG will not help him get rid of this.

I posted this the other day but incorrectly listed the location as the virus.

Hi tofu5,

Welcome to Geeks to Go! My name is SpySentinel and I will be helping you fix your malware problem.

If for any reason you do not understand any of the instructions, or are just unsure then please post back with your question, and we will go through it :)

Since you posted twice in the Malware removal forum, I went ahead and closed your other post here:
http://www.geekstogo...avg-finds-this/

  • Download OTL to your desktop.
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
  • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
  • Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
  • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post it with your next reply.

The above is the Extras.txt Log from yesterday. I ran the OTL.exe today, then rebooted, then scanned with AVG. AVG said I still had the two original viruses. How should I proceed?

Hi Robert,

Did the OTL Fixes that I had you run work ok? If so, there should have been a log that appeared after you rebooted your computer.

Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Please check for updates. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked , and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy & Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Run ESET Online Scan

  • Hold down Control and click on the following link to open ESET OnlineScan in a new window.
    ESET OnlineScan
  • Click the Posted Image button.
  • For alternate browsers only: (Microsoft Internet Explorer users can skip these steps)
    • Click on Posted Image to download the ESET Smart Installer. Save it to your desktop.
    • Double click on the Posted Image icon on your desktop.
  • Check Posted Image
  • Click the Posted Image button.
  • Accept any security warnings from your browser.
  • Check Posted Image
  • Push the Start button.
  • ESET will then download updates for itself, install itself, and begin scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time.
  • When the scan completes, push Posted Image
  • Push Posted Image, and save the file to your desktop using a unique name, such as ESETScan. Include the contents of this report in your next reply.
  • Push the Posted Image button.
  • Push Posted Image
You can refer to this animation by neomage if needed.

Sorry, for slight delay but sometime our satellite internet is really slow when it is cloudy. So far I have scanned my computer with the following: ESET, Microsoft Security Essentials, Professional Super Anti Spyware, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and AVG. AVG is the only one that shows the Win32/NSAnti. I appreciate all your help.
Thank You, Robert

You're welcome :)

Can you post the log from AVG that shows that it detects the infection?

I can not find a log. It just shows the two viruses, and when I try to remove them it states "Moved object is bigger than the archive size limit".
Also, I have not been able to copy anything from AVG.

Hi Robert,

Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

Link 1
Link 2

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools

  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.

  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Posted Image

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Not sure what a System tray is, thought I disabled AntiVirus et al but maybe not.
When I ran ComboFix, it said "ComboFix cannot run when AVG is installed. Uninstall AVG or use another tool. etc."

Try uninstalling AVG, and then once we are finished, you can reinstall it.

Let me know if that works.
