So I recently (almost a week ago) encountered this problem where when I start a video, my video player instantly crashes. This has happens to all of my video players (WMP, Quicktime, WinDVD, ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 5 Trial) except for VLC, but since I use my PC to watch Blu-Ray movies too, this is kind of a big problem. I used to be able to watch all videos with no problems at all. I can't really think of anything significant different I did to the PC, it just .. happened.

As you can see on the attached picture, the video never even starts before it crashes. I have tried looking around the internet, but with no luck. The language on the picture is Danish, but it translates into

"Windows Media Player has stopped working
A problem caused the program stopped working correct. Windows shuts down the program and notifies you, if a solution is found."

So it's the basic, no-good, Windows information.

Thanks :)
