How do you install a gadget so that all users on a multiuser pc will have it included in their list of gadgets?

Hi Buddyforu,

Welcome to Geeks to go! :)

What Operating System? Vista or Win7?

In Windows Vista, gadgets were corralled in the Sidebar and if a signed gadget is installed by the administrator, it will be installed in Program Files\WindowsSidebar\Shared Gadgets\. If a gadget is not signed or if it's installed by a standard user to their own account, it ends up in \User\<account name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\ and cannot be shared by other accts.

Gadgets installed by the administartor to \Shared Gadgets\ are available to all users by right clicking on the sidebar and selecting "Add Gadgets."

Gadgets in the \AppData\ location are only available to the user who installed them.

If you have Win7 installed it is a bit easier, but I believe it is the same principle as above. To share the gadgets on Win7 install them using the administrators acct. Then in the other acct. right click on the desktop, choose gadgets from the list, click to highlight the gadget you would like to choose, then drag and drop them onto the desktop.

If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask.
