This is my first post and the reason I've joined the site.
I got the following error when while using my old "American Heritage Dictionary" application.
The request to end the select 16 bit task has timed out. The 16 Subsystem may be unstable. Press OK to terminate the Win 16 Subsystem or Cancel to leave it running.
My system specs:
- System Model: HP Compaq dc7800 convertible Minitower
- BIOS Ver: Hewlett-Packard 786F1 v01.04
- OS – Win XP Pro Ver. 5.1.2600 SP3 Installed in C:\Windows Hot Fix:KB982802
- 8 GB RAM
- Intel Core™2 Duo CPU E4600 2.4 GHz
I've been using this application since I purchased my system about 2 years ago without any problems.
I live in Thailand and teach English as a Foreign Language off and on and this dictionary Pronounces the words, and has many other nice features even though its' over 13 years old. Its' great tool in the class room.
Its' data files are located on a CD.
Anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks - Al
