Hello, a friend of mine decided to upgrade his Vista desktop to Win 7, he bought a box with the product key from a high street store and downloaded from the net, but the version he bought was "Move up to Win 7 home premium (from starter)! he did not have the starter version!, and the installation did not complete, now when starting up, his desktop shows a message "starting Windows" this then goes to "Setup starting services" screen, then the message: "The computer restarted unexpectedly" Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer and then restart the installation.
Is there anything that can be done to rescue the situation, apart from a complete re-install with Win 7 Home Premium, upgrade edition for XP or Vista.?
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks.
