Choppy game play

Im having some really choppy game play while playing online games. Its not my internet connection, my brother plays on his laptop perfectly. My specs are in my profile. Its been an amazing laptop until now, its just not being nice. Its choppy and i can barely play.

Any tips on how to reduce lag/ choppyness

You didn't state your graphics card in your profile. If your gameplay was fine until now, maybe you installed something recently that runs in the background and consumes processor. Check the task manager while in game, to see what else is there.
