I attempted to start a XP repair from a CD but each time I try it keeps telling me it can't find the hard drives or they are not installed. I know they are there because I'm typing on the computer now.

How do I get the CD repair to see the hard drives? I've not had this issue before so I'm not sure what is happening. I know I need to repair the install as there are a lot of issues where I can't get any updates, issues connecting to internet and problems getting to IE. I'm using firefox now because IE will not run at all.

Please help with any suggestions

Go into the BIOS and see if there's a setting to change the hard disks controllers to IDE or compatibility mode. If there isnt a setting you can integrate the drivers into a new CD using nLite.

What's the make and model of your motherboard/PC?
