I play CoD, CS 1.6 CS:S, and now all of a sudden I ping spike from 100-999. I always use to get a 50-90 ping, now it just sky rockets whenever I connect to a server. ;) In CoD i cant even have my maxpackets at 100, gotta leave em on 30 and get extremely GAYED. /snaps 40, rate 25000 etc. etc. Ive defragged, endless amounts of spyware/adaware scanners, even reformated a while back and reinstalled. I got cable modem, 9600 vid card, 512 mb ram. I dont know whats going on! ;) oh and ive called my isp, and they say theres no wires down, and everything seems fine.

if someone could plz put some good input cuz im almost ready to quit gaming :tazz:

Hey hey! dont do anything rash! I dont know much about american ISP's but it sounds to a internet problem. If you were getting those good pings before then you should still be getting them. Have you tryed resetting your router, and try going to an online web page that test your bandwidth and see if it's your ISP.

Yeah sounds like they could be overloading there lines to get more customers on, i dont know about america but one ISP in australia does that they offer really low plans but if you have a serial warez or hardcore online gamer your bandwidth is gone! ALso neilp4453 posted a really good solution, in summary he said that pcpitstop.com can help with ping issues. http://www.geekstogo...sue-t13759.html
