Last month when Microsoft came out with the Service Pack for Win 7, I installed the update and they busted me for an illegal copy of Win 7. Basically froze me up with a nasty black screen and a message saying that my copy wasnt authentic. So I broke down and bought the family pack upgrade for Win 7 Home Premium. I had to install Vista on the pc to get the upgrade to run, did that then installed Win 7 Home Prem with no problems. Except that now i have no sound.
Before my sound was running off of Realtek and all of my jacks worked properly and i had no sound issues. Now it is telling me that I'm running the Microsoft HD Audio Device (which comes on the ASRock P43DE motherboard that im using) and i only have access to a Rear Panel Optical Jack which I cant seem to find.
I have tried updating my drivers, have played with every jack on the pc and cannot seem to find the problem. When i try and troubleshoot it tells me everything is working properly. Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
