Hello GtG, my problem is:

When I try to install certain things, the installer will instantly crash, or "has stopped working".
For example, I tried updating Java (both x64 and x86) and it instantly crashed. So I uninstalled completely, but now am stuck with no java.
Clicking View problem details shows

The same thing happened with [bleep] NFO Viewer. One day I tried opening a .nfo and it didn't work, so I tried reinstalling but installer stopped working immediately.
Any tips or help would be appreciated. I am completely stumped and reformatting is the last thing I want to do.

Thanks, but that is not my problem. My problem is that some setups crash as soon as I run them.
Also, games "stopped responding" when I quit to desktop.

You said "For example, I tried updating Java (both x64 and x86) and it instantly crashed. So I uninstalled completely, but now am stuck with no java." The link I gave you may help resovle the problem. Worth trying.

Also worth trying is updating your windows installer (If Automatic Update is turned off) This can be found here: MICROSOFT INSTALLER 4.5 REDISTRIBUTABLE

Ztruker, I tried everything listed there.

I also got the latest updates, tried stuff on ADMINISTRATOR in safe mode, but no difference.
I thought it'd be something with installer but for some reason couldn't find the right one, I'll try that one. Thanks
