I don't think I will bother with getting rid of the recovery console, way too complicated, I'm glad you picked up on the need to find bar, I saw this in my add/remove programs, but the hijack this fix must have gotten rid of it.

PS in my control panel there is a AC3 filter never seen this before, any ideas??

AC3Filter is an open source AC3 decoding filter that allows you to watch videos with AC3-encoded surround audio.

After you install the filter, all video players, including Microsoft's Windows Media Player, that use DirectShow, should be able to play AC3 audio correctly. Filter also supports ProLogicII audio as well.

Now back to your HJT log.

Please uninstall Microsoft Antispyware (we can reinstall it once we have finished)
Please disable Winpatrol.

Boot into safe mode.

Scan with HJT and check the following entry:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = file://C:\APPS\IE\offline\uk.htm

Ensure no windows open except HJT and click fix checked.

Using windows explorer locate and delete the FILE only

C:\APPS\IE\offline\uk.htm

Reboot pc normally, rescan with HJT and post the log back.

If this doesn't work we are bring in some dynamite

Thankyou very very much, to both you and Jason, I am glad to hear that I am free from $hite. Took a while but we got there. Thanks for the suggestions for all the programs, I already have adaware, spybot, I have norton 2003, which in my opinion is far better that what they are trundling out now, and it's stops my ISP from being able to know how much I download lol. I am definitley going to donate, and am gonna finish off my geek uni aswell, cos it really gets on my nerves that swines that are bored will sit in a bedroom in their parents house and think to themselves right what virus will I destroy peoples pc's with today.

Tell Justin when he gets back to pop in and say hello, cos a big thanks goes to him aswell, and hopefully within a year or so, I will be on "your" side of this conversation. I think my problem is that I am always trying to do new stuff with my pc and this is what gets me into bother. I will get that spyware blaster, and think I may leave the beta windows for a while, just hope they don't charge for it when the proper version gets released, but never usually stops me

Please keep an eye out for me, if you would, my mother in laws pc, is cream crackered, she has a pent II, really old, but does her for what she uses it for, I have completely scanned it with all the stuff, from above, ewido said there were no infected files, but the Dr watson win 2000 pop up, keeps saying there are errors in the registry, so gonna run registry first aid, hopefully this will find the stuff. There was alexa on there but that has gone, anyhow will post a log, if it comes to it.
