When I insert a CD I just get "Audio CD" and "Track 01" etc... Automatically retrieve track names from internet is checked and Advanced>Get track names does not work either. Internet connection is fine.

In iTunes 9.2.1 - and with the CD in your drive - go to File - Add to Library. From the window that pops up navigate to the CD in your drive and pick the track you want to import.
You can set your import settings in Preferences-General. The drop down menu should give you the choice of AAC, Apple Lossless, WAV, MP3, or AIFF. You can also choose what happens when you load a CD there. The drop down gives you Show CD, begin playing, Ask to import CD, Import CD or Import CD and eject. You can also choose the encoding rate.
I have never used the retrieve track names. I prefer to enter the info manually which you can do also since the factory CD will have the info you need.
