TF2 Error

Ive been playing tf2 for around 2 weeks on this comp and a little while ago this error came up when ever i wanted to play and tf2 would just be a black screen : "Invalid or corrupt background texture materials/console/backround_2fort_widescreen.vtf" Can someone please tell me how to fix this.

While connected to Steam go to your Library and right click on a game, then click properties, click Local Files and then click Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
