scroll on laptop touch mouse not working...

i have had this gateway 4028 laptop for about a month with no problems. but within the last few days, i cannot scroll up or down with the scroll part of my touch mouse thing. it did work fine, but now not at all. what could it be? its really a pita to hit the up & down arrows or to mouse all the way over to the scroll bars on the side of the screen. any ideas. if anyone has read my last thread, i am not having good luck with my computers this week....please help!!! thanks
