here are a few of the things i can't get rid of:
(Spy Sherrif, my_internet, xxxtoolbar and many others)

i ran an updated Ad Aware, following your instructions,

but It gets stuck at the end when it's time to delete all the harmful files.

I am unable to get into some sites that promise to kill Trojan horses.
HELP! Miriamsil

Hello and welcome to Geeks to Go! :tazz: I'm kool808

I suggest you try to uninstall suspicious/nasty(xxxtoolbar,my_search,spy sherrif) programs in the Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs. Don't go to false websites that offer such fixes.

Note: Please read more about false appications HERE.

First I need you to read and install the files START HERE.
Follow the recommended configurations and settings for each applications.

RUN in the following order in Safe Mode:
1. Re-Run Ad-Aware
2. Run CWShredder
3. Run Spybot S&D
4. Run CleanUp at least twice

Even the best antispyware programs are only able to remove about 70% of infections. Also, the line between spyware and trojans is getting blurred. You can never be too careful with these, I recommend at least one online scan.

Now, REBOOT in Normal Mode and have an On-line scan at this sites: Trend Micro or Panda Scan.

REBOOT.
Now make sure to close all other windows and you are NOT connected to the internet. Open HijackThis! and Scan.

Post a log as a new topic in the HijackThis Forum. It will get a better response there from the people most qualified to analyze logs.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

Dear Kool8o8,
Thank you for your advice.

I've been running scans and cleaners all day, but with little avail.

I can't get into safe mode!

I re start, and press F8 and nothing happens!

The big problem is the Spy Sherriff at the beginning; also i seem to be denied access to sites that could help me.

You can download and install HijackThis then
  • go to Config
  • go to Misc Tools
  • Under System Tools, click Open Uninstall Manager
  • then click Save List
  • close HijackThis
Please post only the uninstall list here. After we can deal with going to Safe Mode, please follow the suggestion I had given you just a while a go then post the results at the Malware Forum.

Note: going to Safe Mode: when you boot up, just when the there is a black screen where scanning of memory, etc. appears... you continuously tap the F8 button until an option screen will appear, choose Safe Mode with this options.

Uninstall this:
* media pass
* Spyware Vanisher FS
* MediaRing Talk Release 7.2.026
* SpySheriff

Try to re-install your Ad-aware, then perform the scan again. Ad-Aware & Spybot tips.

If you can now remove the items on Ad-aware, please make a HijackThis Log then post at Malware Forum.
