long beep like a phones ring tone, followed by two short beeps

hallo there,
After switching on my computer, it produces this long beep, like a phone's ring tone, i actually thought that one of my students phone was ringing. then it produces some two more last beeps,it doesn't load anything.
am using windows xp proffessional service pack 3.448 MB ram. 1.50 GHz help me out please.

Hi tingting :)
You need to provide more information about your computer, this includes is it
a laptop or desktop, is it a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP
and if it is provide the model name or series number, motherboard , PSU
and any add on card details would also help others to help you better.
My immediate thought is a video chip or video card issue, provide the info
I have requested and the appropriate assistance will be offered either by
myself or others, also be aware that a bad PSU can cause issues such as this
if they cannot provide enough power to support the card/system.
