Where did the OS come from?
What type of system is this you are installing it on?
Laptop or Desktop?
Name brand or custom build?
Is there a sticker on it stating the original OS installed?

Is there a sticker on it stating the original OS installed?

This item from rshaffer61 is the most important first step to follow.

If there was ever a XP (or XP Pro) installed it will relate to the sticker on the side/top/back of the computer.
Use this as the first step if this is a reinstall, or please post back if there was ANY Operating System ever installed.

Thank You -
