We use a content delivery network, or CDN to improve site performance. A CDN caches content so that you can pull it from a server close to your location, instead of always pulling from our server located in NYC. The farther you are from NYC, the more benefit a CDN offers.
However, because the content is cached, images like avatars and profile pics are not updated instantly. It generally takes a few hours for the content to be pushed out to all the edge servers. There are some workarounds using the CDN's API, and we'll hopefully be able to implement them soon.
I had to look that
content delivery network up... But it all makes sense now...
Just to let you know, it took until yesterday (so a couple of days if I'm not mistaking) for my thumbnails to be uploaded (next to comments f.e.), but my "patience" paid off
Again, thanks for the explanation...
As admin stated, It's probably you're cache on your local machine. I can see your 'space baby' as an avatar.
Chrome has a nice feature to clear the cache;
- Open the Options Page
- Go to the Geavanceerde Opties
- Press the button in the top right that says Browsegegevens Wissen
- Use that window to clear the cache
I hope that helps.

Olrik
