I use Mazilla and Thunderbird. My shutdown procedure is as follows:
After sutting down all sites I click on "log off" which results in a page with users shown and "Turn off computer". I click on "Turn off computer" and it takes over a minute before I get "It is now OK to turn off the computer. In the past the shut down procedure was completed quickly. What is causing it to take so long and how do I speed up the shut down process.

Import a reg key with the following contents.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
"AutoEndTasks"="1"
"WaitToKillAppTimeout"="5000"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control]
"WaitToKillServiceTimeout"="5000"

Does it help?
