I need help analyzing this data provided by PerformanceTest 7.0. In the past I've upgraded certain hardware on instinct only to have the problem or flaw remain. So this time I'm hoping to pin-point what my CPU needs most and go from there.

PASSMARK
283.4 composite average

I've included any data that is atleast 25% below the "composite average".
MEMORY MARK and 3D GRAPHICS MARK have none that are 25% or more below.

CPU - FIND PRIME NUMBERS
125.8 Thousand Primes/second (avg 200)

CPU - MULTIMEDIA INSTRUCTIONS
0.28 Million Matrices per second (avg 10)

CPU - ENCRYPTION
1.98 MBytes/second (avg 10)

GRAPHICS 2D - SOLID VECTORS
3.58 thousand vectors/second (avg 10)

GRAPHICS 2D - TRANSPARENT VECTORS
0.32 thousand vectors/second (avg 10)

DISK - RANDOM SEEK AND RW
1.95 MBytes/second (avg 10)

This is very interesting but what are you wanting to do with the computer that you feel it needs an upgrade?

Gaming mainly. I notice that my CPU is often sluggish despite having sufficient RAM, and I often am the player with the longest load times despite having the lowest ping.

How old is this computer?

Parts range from 6 months old to 4 years old. I transferred my old mobo and processor from my old CPU and put it in a new case with a new gfx card, RAM, power supply, wiring and fans. The mobo is pretty ancient.

Your p4 processor and 1.5 GB RAM are the bottleneck, both are supported by the mobo, so that could probably use a replacement as well...
If you turn down the resolution a bit, your frame-rate might improve as well, with your current setup.

Good luck :)
