Hey Guys

I read a bit about the Win32/Virut virus on the forum. It seems it is only suppose to infect .exe, .scr, .rar, .zip, .htm, .html. files. The problem I am experiencing is that this virus seems to have made shortcuts of all my Dads files "Word documents" "Excel documents" and so forth and deleted the original files and add this vlqouhx.exe to each shortcut like follow f:\vlqouhx.exe MyWork.Doc

The moment I tried to open one of the shortcuts AVG 2011 told me a win32/Virut has been moved to vault.

So my question is this:

Is there any way to recover the lost data on the flash disk? I have tried SmartUndelete 2.9 only found infected files.
Secondly my dad says some of the files contained user accounts and passwords should we be worried?

Thanks in advance for the help
