I noticed that my computer started dying unexpectedly about a week ago, maybe a little less than that. I had my husband take off the back and clean it with compressed air, and it still doing the same thing. I don't know if its over heating and then dieing, but I did noticed that it dies when its really hot on the bottom. I'm not sure that its considered overheating? Can anyone help me with this issue? I really need to get it fixed, I cant afford to buy a new one or any certain pieces to replace any that are in disrepair. HELP!

If the laptop is getting hot enough to be uncomfortable in your lap, then the CPU fan has probably failed and needs replacing.

Not a repair for the faint of heart people, but if your careful it can be done.

Be sure to check first that the fan has quit working or is very slow running, as it may be something else causing the problem. I first check the fans on laptops i attempt to fix.

Well I noticed that it does get pretty hot in my lap, but I can still hear and feel the fan blowing air. Do you think it still would be the problem?

Just to add to the guidance of SRX660 here is a straight forward disassembly guide to help you decide if you will take on the task yourself http://paulov.com/20...cooling-system/ an added tip is keep the different size screws in separate containers and make a note of where each type goes.
Yes clogged fans and cooling systems will cause issues such as this, just because the fan can be heard working it does not mean they are being efficient as other components need to be considered.
