Date Time Format In Excel

hi
I have a column in excel as "08/18/2011 18:15:00" which I have to concatenate with some other columns.
I am using TEXT(<Column Name>,'mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss') but I am not getting the required date time.
Will you please give me ideas how to proceed further.
