I''m still having a problem getting my computer (win xp) to recognize the camera. I found that com 1 is in use by some program, and I can't tell which one. Apparentlly the camera wants to set up on com 1 which is using the serial port and the computer doesn't recognize it.
I've installed the program (polaroid pdc 700) using windows compatibility wizard and have downloaded the latest driver for the camera. Still no connection to the serial port.
Any help you could give would sure be appreciated. I've got a lot of pictures in the camera and can't get them out.
The program used to work, but doesn't anymore for some reason.
Many thanks for looking.

when you enter set up through xp you should be given a choice weather it to detect the camera- like plug and play- or to set it up manually- select to set it up manually and then find your camera maker and type
