Herotab M10 frozen on boot

I have a Herotab M10 running Android 2.2 that was working as expected until I inadvertently allowed the battery to drain. When I discovered that, I immediately charged it up until the green light appeared. Now when I turn it on, it shows the penguin followed by "android" in small letters and then "ANDROID" in large letters on a black screen as it normally does when booting....but it never gets beyond that. In other words, it will not boot into the main screen. If anyone can advise me on a fix to get it up and running again, I would be eternally grateful.

Hi Laurie

Try to get the battery out, wait 10 minutes, put it back in and charge it for half an hour. Then try to power up again.

If this doesn't work, you could try to update the firmware.

  • Download the latest M10 firmware by pressing HERE (they are compressed, you need to open them before uploading)

  • Format a SD card

  • Copy the (unpacked) Firmware on the SD card

  • Put the memory card in the device (turn it off before doing so)

  • Press the power button, it will automatically upgrade itself, this might take a while.

Good luck and we would appreciate your feedback :)
