HP TouchSmart 300 webcam wont open (Windows 7 OS)

My webcam in my HP TouchSmart 300 desktop won't open. The drivers say they are up do date and working but when I click open for the application, it does nothing. I have rebooted my computer, installed the latest updates, and followed all the steps HP suggest, to no avail. I am using Windows 7. Not sure if I was supposed to post this here or in a different place. My webcam did work previously, but I have had Skype and Google Talk installed, then uninstalled them, still that didn't help.

The webcam is an internal one, using Cyberlink and is a a MediaSmart Webcam. I have no clue what else to do and would appreciate any help someone can give.
