Hi all once again, ... having a real issue this time with the computer.

Just recently switched to a stronger more powerful computer than my older, and lots of things are doing well with it except for ... as usual, it's display with my Sony 16:9 ratio monitor. I've tried 1680x1050 my original resolution that I personally enjoy- and here... the font of programs say AIM, Word, and my desktop icons are all ... pushed together, not looking correct, color wise problems if you will. I've tried 1920 by 1200 resolution yet that is difficult to just SEE... it's so FAR AWAY. I'm just ... sort of stumped, everything font/digit wise is blurry, yet graphics on videos/games are PERFECT. I have no clue... sigh.

By the way all, because I am forced to upgrade to Windows Media Player 11, I was just wondering if anyone here knows about Windows Media Player 10 the display of that, and how much better than SKIN is compared to the one in Windows Media Player 11... and if I can change the outlook on my ... ergh, NEW Windows Media Player 11. Sorry to be asking such questions and etc but ... I ... hate... when I can't figure these things out. I wish I could have just saved the original "LOOK" of Windows Media Player 9/10 and have placed it into Windows Media Player 11 or 12. Is that even possible?... well, thanks.

Please post the make and full model of the Dell and the model of the monitor

Additionally a screenshot of the desktop in both resolutions would help.

In relation to your second post although you have posted in the XP forum is the O/S on the new Dell XP
Here are some more skins

If you have a 16:9 monitor, you should choose a 16:9 resolution (preferably the monitor's native resolution) to avoid things looking squished or blurry. 1680x1050 is a 16:10 resolution. Common 16:9 resolutions include 1920x1080, 1600x900, 1366x768, and 1280x720.
