Well I know I am stating the obvious, but it has to be a hardware or driver issue.
OR a BIOS setting.
I have just downloaded and read the FULL motherboard manual 25.9Mbs

I recently dealt with a thread, together with other members, where Memtest came back with no errors as did WMD
He also had four sticks of ram and continually suffered numerous errors when all four slots were populated.
Just by the slightest chance that you have the same please try this.
I
Please see your motherboard manual.
Take out two sticks of ram.
Try therefore with the two remaining in single channel.

Then try the other two in single channel if the first is no good.
The BIOS on that board automatically sees where the ram is on reboot.

If that is good, I will not believe it, but then try the two sticks that worked in dual channel and then the other two in dual channel.
The change each two to populate the other channel and try each time on reboot.

You will have to read the manual to check which two slots must be populated to run the dual channel with just two sticks.

If that is NO GOOD that motherboard has an integrated Intel graphics, take out the Nvidia graphics card and run the integrated graphics.
You will have to enable them I think in BIOS.
Again you need to check the motherboard manual

If that is no good then go to BIOS and LOAD FAIL SAFE DEFAULTS.

Page 57 section 2.9 of your mother board manual.

Ok, tried the various sticks in single channel,no good
Changed BIOS to Fail Safe Defaults, no good
Cant remove Graphics card as board does not have integrated video- integrated audio yes, not video...

I'm at a loss... looking at event viewer after changing BIOS it lists 23 errors... in the last hour!!!

Ad-On: I just for the heck of it tried installing Cyberlinks Blue-Ray suite, something I was unable to do prior to the most recent reformat... that installed fine this time. So at this point, the only errors I am seeing are the ones that show up in event viewer as part of the start-up and the app-crash when trying to use device viewer.

When you have sorted out my last post - as if that motherboard does not have onboard grpahics then I have downloaded the wrong manual or rather should I say Gigabytes link to the manual is wrong.

Please do this
Please do the following:

  • Please download the Event Viewer Tool by Vino Rosso VEW and save it to your Desktop:
  • Double-click VEW.exe
  • Under 'Select log to query', select
    • Application
    • System
  • Under 'Select type to list', select
    • Error
Then use the 'Date of events' or 'Number of events' as follows:

Either:
  • Click the radio button for 'Number of events'
Type 6 in the 1 to 20 box (or any number from 1 to 20)
    Then click the Run button.
Notepad will open with the output log.
  • Click the radio button for 'Date of events'
In the From: boxes type today's date (presuming the crash happened today)
In the To: boxes type today's date (presuming the crash happened today)
    Then click the Run button.
Notepad will open with the output log.
Please post the Output log in your next reply

When I hit run I get a dialogue window saying cannot find the file view.txt , do you want to create one? When I say yes a blank txt doc is opened and the program closes.

As for the video, I looked in the manual and didn't see anything about video in the onboard peripherals section- there is an HDMI port though, I have to steal an HDMI cord from a TV to test, monitor is connected via DVI. Will do later.

I have not had anyone have problems using that tool from Vino Rosso.
After you download it and save it, you double click VEW.exe and go from there. You have to put in the date or the number. otherwise there will be nothing to view.

I am entering the info... heres what I see:

https://picasaweb.go...feat=directlink

Also, the other reason I thought there was no integrated video was I thought I remembered Newegg listing there was none- went back and checked, unless I'm reading it wrong then according to them there is no onboard video chipset... http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813128506

Well this is from the 29Mb manual I downloaded
GA-Z68XP-UD3P
User's Manual
Rev. 1001
12ME-Z68XP3P-1001R

so either the manual is wrong as my previous post was a copy and psate from the manual or Newegg is. OR I have missed an important point, but I cannot see it.
Unless the actual version of the motherboard is different.

normally I would suggest a printer driver., but with al the errors you have had, both when we started and with the clean installl, I am still thinking hardware.

Only have 1 HD and a Blu-Ray

Also, Checked bios and found "Onboard VGA" option, set to auto... removed card and hooked up HDMI but got black screen. BIOS has a "Always On" feature but wanted to check that its ok to select that before I did it- dont want to screw anything up.

I have had to search the motherboard manual
Onboard VGA
Enables or disables the onboard graphics function.
Auto
Allows you to set up a dual-display configuration in Windows 7 operating system. (Default)
Enable If No Ext PEG
Activates the onboard graphics only when no PCI Express graphics card is installed.

Always Enable
Always activates the onboard graphics, whether or not a PCI Express graphics card is installed. If you wish to set up a dual-display configuration, set this item to Always Enable.

You want the one in bold print.
