Blinking cursor left top after complete good restore of vista

Installed from cd's the vista o/s with no problems, Loaded three disks, last told me to reboot and then I get the blinking cursor, removed disk from laptop and install into a external case, then on desktop pc looked at the drive all the files c:windows were all there. But still get the blinking cursor top left. Gateway laptop T63. Need Help!

Hi and welcome to GeeksToGo, sorry to hear of the problem with your Vista installation.

1 What CD's are you using to install Vista...are they Genuine Microsoft Discs?
2 Why not use the DVD?
3 Did you format and reinstall or are your trying to perform a Repair install of your existing operating system
