Hi,

I just got my Corsair 120GB GT SSD today. I didn't do a fresh windows installation on it as I didn't want to go through the troubles of installing all the programs over again, so I cloned my old drive to this new SSD. The problem is that this SSD reads and writes much slower than it's supposed to do.

Here's the link to the SSD info page: http://www.newegg.co...orsair 120gb gt

Here's the screenshots of its actual speeds tested after I cloned my old drive to it: http://img13.imagesh...3/5584/ssdl.jpg

Please help, I want to get the most out of this drive as much as possible. Thanks.

I can't remember the details of it, but I remember hearing that when you clone a regular HDD, and try to put it on an SSD, it will not reach the SSD speeds but will be greatly hindered based upon the HDD that was cloned onto it.

I'm sure there's someone here more knowledgeable as to the "Why." But that's what's going on and why you can't get the SSD speeds. Unfortunately.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I really don't want to format it and install everything over again, but if that's the only way to get the max speeds, I'll do it. Can someone please give me some pointers? Thanks.
