Hi there i'm having some problems with my home pc, each time i load it up i get 3 options

load last good configuration settings (which does not load)

load in safe mode ( which does not work)

load in safe mode with command prompts (which does not work)

i have tried and tried to get passed the blue screen, but every time i select any of the above 3 options my computer loads a little then i have this
big blue screen with all this white writing it says

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
STOP: 0x000000ED (0X8AB79590,0XCO000006,0X00000000,0X000000)

I am running windows XP
unfortunately I don't have the installation CD that came with the PC

i haven't installed anything of concern only windows live messenger. a few days after i did notice that my pc was running unusually slow and had froze and had to be rebooted a good few times. a couple of days after i switch it on and i have this awful blue screen

if anybody could assist me i would be most grateful

thanks :)

Some of the reason for the BSOD message STOP: 0x000000ED are these :

-The ide cable from your motherboard to your Hard Driuve is a 40 pin cable instead of an 80 pin cable.

-The BIOS parameters are configured to force the acceteration of the UDMA modes

-The file system is damage and cannot be mounted.
