Microsoft Update downloads but will not install updates. I get Error Code: 0x80070663 for all 16 of the updates that won't load.
I have downloaded Microsoft Fit It and that did not solve the problem.
I ran these scripts from the cmd prompt:
-----
regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wups2.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll
-----
and that did not solve the problem.

With the guidance of a Geekstogo malware removal helper I just finished completely ridding my system of all sorts of malware, spyware, rootkits for a clean system, and Microsoft Update still won't work.
I edited my registry as suggested by http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913754, and this did not work either.

Just to confirm, these are all Office updates and you are using Microsoft Update, not Windows Update?

All of the updates are Microsoft Office (except for one Microsoft Works suite); and yes it's Microsoft Update, not Windows update.

If all else fails, go to MU and click on Details... on one of the updates. You will get a popup with a go.microsoft... URL. Click that link and go to the IT professional one. You will be at the security update bulletin. Look at the tables for your version of Office, Service Pack, etc. Click that link and you should get a download page. Download the update and see if it installs correctly.
