My friend has an ASUS EeePC 1005HAB note book. It will turn on and display the manufacturers screen with "Press F2 to run setup. Press TAB to display BIOS POST Message" And, that is it. That screen remains. The keyboard does not respond at all. A cursor never displays. What could cause this and is there a way to resolve the problem?

On the Asus eee pc to do a factory restore you hit the F9 key while the computer is booting.
If this does not work the hard drive has probably died in the computer.
